Dear ASHRAE Northeast members,

Welcome to the new issue of our chapter monthly newsletter: “Thermal Briefs – November 2018”

In this year, the chapter board members are open to any new ideas or comments about chapter’s activities such as but not limited to the monthly meeting venue, speakers, presentation, the newsletter, the website etc. Please, don’t hesitate to get in touch with any of the board members if you have any new ideas or comments. President Elect Message - November 2018

Come Join ASHRAE for our November lunch meeting and presentation at the Italian American Community Center @11:45am on Tuesday, November 13th, 2018. This month’s presentation topic will be on the energy savings technologies: Adiabatic Cooling, Waterside Economizer/Free Cooling, Refrigerant Circuit Optimization, and Heat Recovery Opportunities. This meeting is approved for 1 PDH and will be presented by Michael Collins.

President Message - November 2018

My President’s message is a bit unconventional this month. While November messages generally trend towards thankfulness, my October travels have me reflecting on my ability (more specifically, lack thereof) to “unplug”. As I’m sure many of you can relate, I struggle with truly unplugging while on vacation and enjoying the moment, often thinking about what calls/emails I may be missing, what assignments lie waiting in my inbox and voicemails, and feeling guilty for not working. As we approach the Holiday season, a time for family and friends, it’s critical for all of us to make conscious efforts to unplug and truly enjoy the limited times we get to spend with our loved ones.

ASHRAE Winter Conference Planner

We'll see you in Atlanta this January 12-16 for the 2019 Winter Conference & AHR Expo, held at the Omni Atlanta Hotel at CNN Center and neighboring Georgia World Congress Center. The conference technical program includes 8 tracks with more than 100 sessions and 140 PDHs.
