This month’s presentation will be " IBC Seismic and Wind Load Compliance for Non-Structural Building Components as presented by Danielle Taylor.

Danielle Taylor Bio: 

Daniella is Sr. National Sales Manager, VMC Group

As the National Sales Manager for VMC Group, Ms. Taylor is responsible for the business development for the commercial construction market. She is responsible for developing and implementing plans to accomplish VMC’s strategies, including market expansion.

In addition to her responsibilities as National Sales Manager, Danielle is a frequent lecturer for VMC Group in seismic design and installation and the newly adopted building code in the United States based on the International Building Code (IBC). She has lectured throughout North America regarding seismic design and seismic building codes.

Since joining VMC Group in 2004, Danielle has utilized her experience across multiple VMC Group departments developing the commercial construction sales strategies and training programs for IBC compliance. VMC Group is the largest IBC seismic and wind certifying agency for the HVAC, power generation, and fire protection industries.

Prior to VMC Group, Danielle employed her studies in Mechanical Engineering from Rutgers University in different capacities in the construction industries. This included project engineering for pharmaceutical facilities for large general contracting firms as well as project management and estimating for mechanical contractors.

" Smoke Control Overview-Design Considerations & Fire Alarm System Integration

"Review of smoke control vs. smoke management systems. Highlight the codes and standards that affect the system operation and design parameters.  Discuss the goals of these various systems from smoke detection, damper activation, and modulation to fan control and how to properly interface them together to work as a single system. Testing requirements and ongoing reviews are covered to make sure the system works today and into the future whenever it is needed.
