Come Join ASHRAE for January lunch meeting on: Tuesday, January 21, 2020 at the Italian American Community Center. Registration starts at 11:30AM, lunch and the presentation are set to begin at 11:45AM. This month’s presentation will be on the topic of “Low Mass vs High Mass Condensing Boilers” as presented by Dan Burnell
Dan Burnell Bio:
Dan has been in the thermal energy production industry for 41 years and serves as the Vice President, as well as a coach and mentor for Blake Equipment's Thermal Energy Solutions & Engineered Products Teams in ME, NH, VT, western MA, CT, and upstate NY. He and his team work with consultant & facility engineers and contractors, assisting them in the design and construction of energy plants by incorporating high-efficiency boilers, low emissions combustion systems, heat recovery systems, and advanced combustion control technologies.
Low Mass vs High Mass Condensing Boilers
This presentation explores the science behind condensing boilers and discusses the relative advantages of high mass vs low mass condensing boilers. At the end of the presentation, the audience should have a better understanding of how the boiler mass, piping configuration, excess oxygen, and boiler turndown all affect the overall efficiency and cost of a heating system.
